Snooty Frox has been at the heart of weddings, race days and special occasions for 25 years. How lucky we are.

Starting out with a name, a rented space and a single mannequin the ladies dress business was bought for £250 and is now one of Harrogate’s best-loved boutiques Snooty Frox.

This evolution turned a one-woman enterprise into a successful ladies’ department store – a contemporary emporium of fashion which has styled women for weddings, race days, garden parties and holidays of a lifetime.

Founded by Hilary Haresign, Snooty Frox first opened its doors in 2000 and has since become an award-winning independent fashion store. Stocking one of the largest mother of the bride and mother of the groom ranges in the UK, occasion wear, evening wear, cruise wear and a range of exclusive designer casual brands, Snooty Frox is a must visit destination.

“No single outfit is the most glamorous, all our mothers of the bride and mothers of the groom are special to us, they are sharing this most special day with us and we want them to look and feel fantastic,” says Hilary. “We want our customers to leave us having had a wonderful time at Snooty Frox. Our customers are our best advert and many people visit the store based on their recommendations”.

In the year 2000 mother of the bride and mother of the groom outfits were all about a jacket and a fitted dress. “The colours were very conservative –  it was a certain look,” says Hilary. Fast-forward 25 years and the women are much more fashion-conscious and more eclectic in their tastes. They have to have the “wow” factor. “This is why our offer is so unique compared to the high street,” Hilary explains. “As we look to the future we want to build on our occasion wear for every occasion. We have welcomed ladies from all over the world and dressed them for every occasion imaginable. We are The Dress Destination”.

Snooty Frox is a family-run business and has become a destination for ladies across the country, be it for occasion and evening wear, casual wear, millinery, accessories or gifts.
